Kill the Hate

Perfect weather, dearest of friends, in a room full of goths and non-goth lovers, who could ask for more? WHY CAN'T EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT BE LIKE THIS?!! Of course, it cannot always be idealistic as this is Miami but we commend you for making this most joyous occasion a happenin'! To be lucky enough to have seen them last night not only from our view alone but seeing them at all, was hands down one of the best shows we have seen in a long time. In all honesty, this was a gathering where being draped in black from head-to-toe as is my uniform 90% of the time was not questioned and where pretentiousness never showed it's ugly face. The air was that of kindred spirits coming together to see and hear something rare and unusual as music reigned supreme as it should be. In the words of one of my most eloquent friends, Arielle, "all my goth dreams come true," we collaboratively bring to you, us, backstage/side-stage viewing...NITZER EBB. Here's Douglas McCarthy, frolicking and gyrating so stylishly on stage in a black American cut two-button suit jacket, fitted black pants, white shirt, skinny black tie, aviator sunglasses hiding his eyes, and black pointy shoes - a pure mesmerizing delight to say the least. While the crowd gushed in awe, people traveled from far and wide to see and hear their chanting sounds. For those who don't know, we shall oblige and say, that they are a British goth/industrial/electronic band from the mid-80's, whose inspirations include BAUHAUS and DAF, so it's safe to say that they are old school and still killing it. Please enjoy our novice attempt at photographs and we apologize for a somewhat peekaboo video taken at the show last night...

and much clearer...

MODern Urban Cowgirl

Last night, turned out unexpectedly jolly as I went to an exhibit opening with my sis and dear friend Stephen clad in velvet leggings, a vintage printed long sleeve top with a draped/scooped neck, accompanied by a wide lapel studded grayish leather waistcoat and my favorite part of my ensemble, in no way forgetting the essential...my white mid-calf rounded pointy boots. The highlight of it all was not the art but socializing with some of my pallies, is it ever really about the art? It was an early night and when I got home, I decided to play with my camera and took a number of candidly silly "self portrait"photos of myself which are absolutely ridiculous. This morning I awoke and revealed them to my sis who thought it was necessary to share with you. In this spirit of a 'Modern Urban Cowboy/girl' if such a title even exists, enjoy the song...
