Technicolor Dream Coat

Last Friday night, for a very special celebration, Yusha's birth, the weather was cool and on the cooler decline as the night progressed, which is certainly a rarity in these parts and welcomed with open arms by all who live here. The humidity seems to have gone to sleep for the "Winter", so I pulled out my newest discovery from my mum's closet. An embroidered red lightly lined coat/robe with a Chinese collar, buttons and bell-sleeves which somehow resembles a prayer robe. Coupled with a black tank, cigarette jeans, and slouchy boots with brass buckles. To adorn I wore a medallion necklace with an opal bead as well as my handmade crystal bullet necklace made for me by one of my besties, Gregg, of the vintage online company called the Brothers of The Silver Sun, and definitely a site worth feasting your eyes on. The night was lovely and I enjoyed spending it with some of the best people I love and the setting even more than perfect. To sum it all up in the best way I know how, I share one of my favorite songs by Spindrift and silly self-taken photos of my "Technicolor Dream Coat" with you...

Juicy, Juicy, Juice

My post today is inspired by Royal Trux not only because they are an underrated band who are the epitome of real legendary "Rock n' Roll" and "Soul Vamp" to me but because my friend, Sergio told me that I had a Jennifer Herrema look going on, three Saturday nights ago hahaha. There I was in my black bellbottoms, white cowboy boots, vintage distressed Jimi Hendrix shirt and exaggerated long black circle scarf enjoying the beautiful weather with my pals in the courtyard at a grand opening of a new place to grace our little city. So in much anticipation of Ms. Herrema's new band, Black Bananas, instead of posting my outfit, I post this amazingness...

Oh Canada!

After having what was referred to as a "Birthday Festivus" encompassing a 3 day birthday celebration this past weekend for me, we ended it all on Tuesday, the day of my official birth, by attending a gallery exhibition of a well-liked photographer in Miami. I figured it befitting if I ended it in the era where my heart belongs, the 60's, even if I was born in the late 70's much to my dismay. Thus I was dandified or rather primped in a somewhat fitting Vintage, slight Mandarin collared green paisley, knee-length dress from the 60's with long sleeves held together by purple buttons. Which was lovingly purchased for me as a pressie by one of my best friends Willow, whilst on a vacation in Canada. No adornment needed other than my silver and Marcazite ring with an onyx stone as there was no need to cloud the purple button detail in the front. Onyx is said to symbolize thought to increase regeneration, happiness, intuition, instincts. Also thought to decrease sexual desire and helps to change bad habits. Isn't that an interesting artifact? hahaha Tying it all together with black opaque stockings and my favorite black 3 tiered fringe Minnetonka BOOTS. I paired it with a black scrunchy bag with silver fringes. I have a slight tendency to somehow always incorporate some kinda fringe whether it be jewelery, boots or items of clothing in my ensemblage due to my undying love of the "Azteca" and "masala" let's just say all kinds of Indian hahaha...

Hope you enjoy a little vintage as much as I do...
